Erik Willardsen is a solutions-driven technology professional with a track record of progressive experience spanning software development, infrastructure engineering, and security operations. His expertise encompasses full-stack development, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), CI/CD automation, database administration, and DevOps tooling, with a strong command of C#/.NET, Python, and enterprise deployment workflows.
Most recently, Willardsen served as Windows Software Developer at MCE/Nidec Motors, where he maintained and enhanced iReport elevator controller software in C# (.NET 3.5), introduced dynamic dashboards using Syncfusion libraries, and authored UML and sequence diagrams to support long-term maintainability. A standout contribution included designing and deploying a C# (.NET Core 9) WinForms application to replace legacy command-line interaction with a validated, bug-free GUI for the HCE-2 network adapter board. He also repaired a broken InstallShield installer, eliminating manual post-install workarounds for the R&D team.
Prior to that role, he worked as a Junior Software Developer at RL Liquidators, contributing full-stack development across React, Vue, JavaScript, C#, Python/Django, and Node.js/Express platforms. He engineered a Python automation tool to scrape Amazon pricing data and auto-generate Excel reports, eliminating hours of manual data entry, and conducted cross-platform QA testing that surfaced more than 25 bugs.
Earlier in his career, Willardsen supported Intel as an Infrastructure Support Engineer, where he automated Linux and Windows server provisioning pipelines using Ansible and integrated Zabbix monitoring to enable proactive incident response. As a Security Engineer at the California Air Resources Board, he configured DMARC DNS records to mitigate phishing exposure, authored PowerShell automation scripts, and engineered a JSON log parser that significantly improved security event processing. Additional Intel engagements included Linux server administration and junior software engineering roles, where he developed automation tools in Python that reduced manual SQL data entry and streamlined SSD firmware lifecycle management.
Willardsen holds a B.S. in Computer Science from California State University, Sacramento, and dual A.A.S. degrees in Information Technology and Networking Technology from Heald College. He holds CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certifications.
